An unexploded hand grenade was found by a fisherman in a pond at Hampstead Heath in London. Police sealed off the area and called in an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team after the No. 36 hand grenade (‘Mills Bomb’) was hooked by an angler.
The EOD team decided to undertake a controlled explosion of the device to make it safe on the banks of the pond.
