Unexploded Mortar Found by Magnet Fishermen in River Mole

A controlled explosion was carried out after a father and son magnet fishing team pulled an unexploded mortar from the River Mole in Surrey. The Police were informed of the suspect discovery and put in place a security cordon, whilst mobilising an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.

The EOD team moved the mortar into an adjacent field where they safely destroyed it.
