Residents were evacuated after the discovery of an unexploded device at an Asda store in Clevedon, Somerset. Police put a security cordon in place and told neighbouring residents that they’d have to leave their homes until the device was assessed by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.
The EOD team worked quickly to remove the item – possibly a WWII hand grenade – and the cordon was lifted before night time.
