Unexploded Shell Found on Cliffs Near Eastbourne

An unexploded shell has been found on the cliff edge near Beachy Head in Eastbourne. A combined Police, Coastguard and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operation was put in place to ensure the area was safely cordoned off before an examination of the device could take place.

The EOD team moved the shell onto the local beach where it was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
