Unexploded Torpedo Found in Scapa Flow

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was mobilised to Scapa Flow in the Orkney Islands after an underwater survey discovered an unexploded torpedo.

One of the most important naval sites in recent history, Scapa Flow was infamously the location of the German scuttling of their fleet in 1919.  Several wrecks remain in situ on the seabed.

This incident follows on from the discovery of a torpedo in the Flow during 2016, which was subsequently destroyed in a controlled explosion.
