WWI Shell Forces Residential Evacuation in Yorkshire

A suspected World War One (WWI) shell was destroyed in a controlled explosion after being discovered in an outbuilding of a property in Steeton near Bradford.  Neighbouring houses were evacuated after the discovery of the item, which is thought to be more than a century old.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team arrived to assess the shell before it was moved to a nearby filed for safe demolition.
