WWII Shells Removed from Royston Garden

2No. suspected WWII shells were discovered by workmen in the garden of a house in Royston, Hertfordshire, prompting the evacuation of nearby houses and businesses.

A safety cordon was put in place in preparation for the arrival of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from the Royal Logistics Corps.

The shells were transported to open ground nearby for a controlled explosion.
