An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team carried out a controlled explosion after a World War Two (WWII) mortar was found beside a footpath in Llanllechid near Bethesda, Gwynedd.

The device was found by a member of the public in an area of Wales that was extensively used during WWII for military training given its remote location and rugged terrain.
