Controlled Explosion for Shell Found in Shropshire Garden

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team undertook a controlled explosion of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) found in Newport, Shropshire.  The device – described as either a WWI shell or a WWII motar – was found buried in a garden by a local resident.

Some properties were temporarily evacuated by the Police as the EOD travelled to the scene.  The device was moved to nearby farmland where it was rendered safe.
