Controlled Explosion for Shell Found on Wrexham Building Site

A controlled explosion was carried out after a suspected artillery shell was discovered on a building site near Wrexham.

Groundworkers found the shell – reported to be a 105mm device – at a proposed residential development in Brymbo and called the Police.  After putting in place a security cordon, the Police brought in an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team who made the shell safe through a controlled detonation.
