Grenade Found on Huddersfield Towpath

Several homes and businesses were temporarily evacuated after the discovery of a hand grenade on the towpath in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called to the scene and they removed the grenade for a controlled explosion elsewhere.

The origin of the device is unknown, although it is possible that it was taken out of the canal by magnet fishermen.
