A metal detecting club had a surprise when they came across an unexploded mortar on farmland near Clacton-on-Sea in Essex. After Police were informed, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was mobilised to the scene.
The EOD team were able to render the item safe in a controlled explosion.
