Military Device Found on Beach Near Lyme Regis
A ‘military device’ was found at low tide on the beach below The Spittles, near Lyme Regis, on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve, 31st December 2023.
The Lyme Regis Coastguard responded and set up a cordon around the device, but an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team called to the scene were unable to reach the suspected ordnance due to the rising tide. The device could not be located the following day.
