Roads and a key bridge were closed in Bedford after an unexploded mortar was found in the River Great Ouse, the second UXO find in the area this month.
Police put in place a security cordon before an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended. The EOD team removed the mortar to a nearby country park for a controlled explosion.
