Police put in place a 50-metre security cordon after the discovery of a suspected ‘unexploded Second World War bomb’ at Whiteley Village, near Hersham in Surrey.
The device – exact nature and type unspecified – was found in woodland by a member of the public. Police brought in an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, which rendered the item safe.
