Suspected WWII Shell Found in Suffolk Car Park

A an unexploded shell, believed Second World War in date, was discovered in the car park of Alderton Recreation Ground in Suffolk on Monday 22nd January. An Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the scene and carried out a controlled explosion in a field close to Beach Lane.

Military training is known to have been undertaken in the vicinity of Alderton during WWII.
