Two ‘unexploded bombs’ found on Shrewsbury building site

Controlled explosions have been carried out after the discovery of 2No. ‘unexploded bombs’ on a building site in Shrewsbury.

After a first item was found at the site on Copthorne Road, Police called in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts to assess. They carried out a controlled explosion.

A second device was subsequently found and, after a 50m security cordon was put in place, the EOD team returned to make the item safe.

The exact nature of the ‘bombs’ is unknown.
