Unexploded Ordnance Found at Biggin Hill Airport

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts were called to Biggin Hill Airport after the discovery of suspected Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) was found. The WWII-era item was found during construction works at one of the terminal buildings. The EOD team removed the device for safe disposal.

Biggin Hill was a Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter airfield during WWII, responsible for the air defence of London. It was heavily bombed on several occasions during the Battle of Britain.
