A controlled explosion was carried out after unexploded ordnance (UXO) was found at a holiday park at Barton-on-Sea in Hampshire.
A 100m security cordon was put in place by Police overnight, prior to the attendance of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.
The EOD team rendered the device safe through a controlled detonation. The exact nature of the ordnance is unknown, described only as a ‘World War Two bomb’.
