WWI-Era Shell Found in the River Thames at Oxford

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called to an area near Folly Bridge in Oxford after the discovery of a suspected World War One-era shell.

A security cordon was put in place and nearby locks temporarily closed after a magnet fisherman snared the device in the River Thames.

The EOD team removed the shell for safe disposal.
