The Jersey Coastguard were called on Saturday 30th March to reports of a reported ‘unexploded shell’ being found by a member of the public south of Seymour Tower, La Roque, on the south-eastern tip of Jersey.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the scene and confirmed the device as a 105mm German WWII anti-aircraft shell. The unexploded shell was destroyed on location in a controlled detonation.
